Video Production: The Power of the Story
Over the past few years Brimstone Hill has been steadily growing a new practice of video production, evolving a new division called Brimstone Hill Productions.
In addition to creating content such as the interviews we do at trade
shows, industry conferences and similar events we have been doing
"video success stories" in which we go to a print provider on behalf of
an equipment or software vendor and shoot a mini-documentary about how
they use a particular technology and how it has benefited their
business. Other projects have included sales training tools and
capturing the look, feel and spirit of conferences such as Dscoop, the

The Brimstone Hill Difference It's
easy to hire a local video crew to cover your event, or to spend a day
at a customer to capture a success story, then have it edited for use

coordinate, and since the average local videographer and sound guy

- When you want to shoot a video success story we begin with a short planning
call to define the project and the story you want to tell.
- You provide us with the contact info for your account team and
the people at your customer's business with whom we need to connect.
- We learn about the customer from your account team to ensure their input and expertise is included.
- We talk with your customer to set a date for the shoot, explain the
process, set expectations, and how the shoot will go. This streamlines
the process and raises the customer's comfort level with the process.
- We provide questions for the customer to review at least one week
before the shoot. Based on talking with your account team, these may
focus on particular challenges or applications, how the customer is
using your technology, and the benefits it provides their business.
- On the day of the shoot we connect with your customer and the
account team and do the interviews and taping. This includes capturing
sufficient b-roll (background footage) to make the story more
compelling and visually interesting. Your account team are welcome to
add questions that clarify points or draw out more detail.
- The video is then edited for review, input and approval by you, the
customer and the account team, and a final version is produced in the
format required.
